As an experienced urban designer with a keen eye for what works, Jeff is attracted to great public spaces. His favorite public space is the High Line in NYC; converting an unused elevated rail line into a space for people. "The space is inspiring," he explains. "The design details are amazing. The elongated pavers that draw people through the space, rise out of the ground plane and curve into benches. Missing pavers are replaced with plantings, mirroring the interaction of the dense concrete city and nature’s edge. Being able to walk up to the High Line and travel across city blocks without navigating taxi’s, delivery trucks, bicycles, and traffic lights is such an asset providing a elevated space to get away from the street and see the city from a different view."
"My daughter and I have been creating art together for over a decade. Having a mother who is a retired elementary school art teacher, I grew up creating things and that has continued with my daughter. Above is a photograph of her first attempt at “computer art” which she created at age 11."
